Wikipedia is the world’s largest online encyclopaedia with billions of views every month. Content is edited, curated, and protected by more than 280,000 active volunteer editors around the world, making Wikipedia a unique model. The DEM-Debate project, which started in September 2024 and lasted 18 months, aimed at studying the peculiarities of this model by analysing how Wikipedia addressed disinformation during the 2024 European Parliament elections.

The event will give the opportunity to the researchers, the University of Amsterdam and Eurecat – Centre Tecnològic de Catalunya, to showcase the results of their analyses, presenting the policy options that can inform future policy-making.
